The Future of Political Parties
Humanity in every stage of their history says living in a time of chaos, and we are no exception. We are living in times where it becomes very utopian philosophy in relation to the real facts in relation to the application of these theories. In this paper we analyze the political parties and its reality as supposed representatives of the people. Do political parties remain the ideal system? Can we do without them? In the normative definition of political parties are recognized as the connection between people and state, so that this system ensures the clear involvement of citizens in government affairs as an ideology and decision-making. As society changes, so does the government resulting in a constantly evolving relationship in time and space. As this relationship becomes all the time, so does the institutions that represent these bonds such as political parties. Political parties are born at a specific time and as this happens, they must change and failure to do so may disappear, the Darwinian theory of adaptation definitely also applies to politics. Is if the parties do not fit people's needs, it can dispense with it and move to the search by another party or another system is how the parties should always strive to match the demands of citizens and to ensure a good fit with the socioeconomic and political environment.
Currently supranational phenomena are occurring, the most noted and recognized them is Globalization. Globalization is defined by the Royal Spanish Academy as "the tendency of markets and businesses to expand, reaching a global dimension that goes beyond national borders?, This international phenomenon has created an ideological revolution, economic, sociological and political finally, now a nation can no longer make decisions without considering the others. A clear example of globalization and seriously ails us right now, is the famous U.S. recession, the recession is not famous just because they talk too much about it, is famous because it afflicts each of the areas of a country, especially the economic. In the past if the nation went into crisis, only it was affected seriously, in the last decade, Argentina fell into bankruptcy because of its dependence on overseas, but the crisis was contained in its own policy and economy, however we have experienced in recent years in a world system where the hegemony of the United States has and we have all become dependent on him, especially our country Mexico, where not only our economy and politics is also dependent, but has become a sociological phenomenon in which millions of Mexicans crossing the border in search of better living conditions.
But now that the "world police? is weak, chaos runs every nation that is part of the current world system: capitalism. As a result of the above, the transformation of the parties must be fully sensitive to these changes to provide solutions. But we have a state with a power that is underestimated in comparison with the market now are not the rulers who rule, but international companies and those supranational agreements that give strong external characters amounts of power and influence within our territory, they begin to be very important actors in the decision-making in the country. Political parties are weakened to such changes and do not respond with effective proposals and solutions to the looming crisis and many others.
The above can be considered as external factors of the crisis that political parties reflect internal factors we recognize that these organizations, although they are supposed to respond to the demands of the people and as representatives of their voice and vote to the State , political parties are increasingly alienated from society, have become party apparatus, "voting machines whose sole function is to organize the process of selecting candidates, advertise and get votes?, they have forgotten their role exclusively dedicated to social and political function exercise have failed to propagate and defend ideologies among the people and are summarized looking for citizenship only when this means voting for candidates of their choice, citizens lose their quality qualitative and become mere percentages related to the election results or opinion polls. Accounting for citizens becomes the party power, not ideology. Thus citizen participation in government, and therefore the parties, is reduced to election day so that true democracy reduces to something that we can not call it that.
Do not give people the opportunity to be part of the political parties are made up of people that follow the same pattern so that the differences are not tolerated or plurality, which are the foundation of any democracy. The differences are accepted, collect and find a common agreement, not the exclusion of differences. A democracy in theory is known to be inclusive, but when there is no real equality and tolerance for diversity, democracy becomes exclusive because different minorities do not feel represented by the government ignores them. A clear example can be the Zapatista National Liberation Army, who claim that the "democratic? no sailing at all for their demands and needs, so they decided not to recognize in response to the government which in turn does not recognize.
The problem of the lack of correspondence from the party is of serious gravity. A people who does not receive a response from political parties no longer trust him, to support it. Most Mexicans were satisfied with the elections of 2000 when President-elect Vicente Fox was not really country voted for Fox, voted for "change?, A change that happened under his administration was not given to Mexicans. Mexico lost the hope that the change of political party were to be the difference that the nation needed after 70 years of continuity PRI, the change resulted in a divided Congress and a political standstill. Largely responsible for this is that parties do not actually hold an ideology or work plan, the parties have focused on the polls and then obtain solutions for a country reinvents itself every six years national plan stopping all previous works starting from the beginning again. Parties currently receive less support from citizens, and that distrust is not only based on the limited reciprocity they receive, but also distrust electoral system itself.
This suspicion has always existed but has been intensified exponentially since the disputed 2006 elections. From libelous campaigns to "dead? who voted, the outcome of this election where both major candidates were Felipe Calderon and Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador was described as a fraud by most of the population. The Mexican electoral system has lost all trust from their constituents. Another fact that has hurt the security of citizens in political parties was in July this year in the elections of president and secretary general of the PRD National Executive Committee, all we saw was a total fraud and until declared null for "irregularities serious? more than 20% of the boxes installed. As we may call ourselves a democratic state if we fail if you want to base this system, as complete and accurate correspondence and citizen participation. If you look, how is it that we have a transparency law? Is it necessary to put a property under the law of democracy itself? To understand the future of the parties, we must understand this, the National Action Party began with the slogan of being the party of people for the people, but now is known as the party representative of the Mexican right, the Party PRI is intended to create a sovereign state established a constitution in favor of the interests of Mexicans, but gave seventy years of attacks against human rights laws in favor of social polarization and a life in total unconstitutional, and what about the Democratic Revolution Party, began with a mission to improve and restructure a PRI without innovations, in the mid-eighties, the party took a rather interesting but as time progressed its aims were distorted and fragmented between a center-left and extreme left, showing little tolerance or attitude to negotiations.
The other parties like the Green Party, the work and others have not been a noticeable change in society, many of them have liberal ideas, innovative and interesting ideas but do not manage to achieve to get the votes needed to complete allying with a major political force and thus lose their proposals. In conclusion, the type of government all have their honest and the corrupt version and there are monarchies are tyrannies and aristocracies there are oligarchies, so that the democracy of corrupt political parties that we know can have its positive version. For the political party system survives, it will be necessary as a series of reforms to make the public voice actually belongs to everyone, not just the elites, parties would need to learn to deal with a policy not only national but also one that can work with the results of globalization, also, and mainly that there is a real correspondence from the parties with respect to the demands of the people. Societies change and so does the world-system, you must adapt to survive.
